creative

Our modeling sessions are where we get to have fun and truly be innovative and creative. Experimental shoots can include things like themes, costumes, different types of lighting effects, and much more in either our indoor studio or outdoor venue. It is also an opportunity for you to build out a modeling portfolio, try out your fun/new outfits and costumes, or gain some low-pressure practice with an experienced, established photographer. For us, this is where we experiment with lighting, styles, and may include a significant amount of experimentation in Photoshop.

collaborative

At Justin Barker Photography, we only engage in collaborative modeling sessions - sometimes called TFP or "Time for Photos." These types of sessions exchange your modeling time for our photography and produce truly collaborative artistic endeavors. This is great for models to build their portfolio and allows us to be innovative and creative without the high pressure of a paid client deliverable. Only three things are needed to engage in a collaborative modeling session: compatible styles, a coordinated theme, and mutual consent exchanging time for photos.

outdoor model sessions

We offer outdoor venues to fit the mood and style of the photoshoot. Some common locations include parks, urban landscapes, industrial, downtown, and waterscapes. For these types of shoots, we may travel within 10 miles of Richardson, Texas. Outdoor sessions typically include either natural lighting or some small modeling lighting and will incorporate the venue into the session.

studio model sessions

We maintain a small, indoor home photography studio with a variety of backdrops and lighting options. This venue allows us to work under more controlled conditions and with a much wider selection of lighting options. Our most creative and interesting sessions are typically conducted in our home studio, which allows us to work longer sessions independent from weather conditions and public spectators.
